Essentials is your campus shop, providing everything you would expect from a small convenience store and stationers. It is always stocked with newspapers, magazines, chilled food, beers and wines, groceries, stationary, confectionary and much more. Essentials also offers official University clothing and memorabilia, from all three Universities and offers special deals on multiple purchases.

Essentials is a proud supporter of fairtade products and carries fairtade fruits, teas and coffees, sugars, cottons (in our clothing), chocolates, wines and beers. We work with the Co-op to provide as many fair trade foundation approved products as possible, and also colloborate with our University partners in raising awareness about fair trade products and the issues behind ethical trading.
We work with both The University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University on fair trade issues and are always seeking to develop our current offer. It is our intention that before August 2009 the Universities at Medway campus will gain 'fairtrade university' status in its own right and will cover the activities of the existing accredited universities and the University of Greenwich. More information can be found below;
