Learn how to give hand massages
Cost: £1
In this one-hour taster class you will learn how to relax using hand massage techniques. Some of the theory will be covered, but the class is an opportunity for participants to really practice on partners, under the instruction and guidance of the tutor, Ruby.
After attending the course you will be able to use hand massage techniques on yourself and on family and friends to de-stress.
Sign up in advance at the Student Activities Centre in Pilkington. Limited availability so sign up early to avoid disappointment.

University of Kent have organised a great event to celebrate diversity. Free coach trip to the University of Kent.
14.00 – 13.00
Location: University of Kent Campus (pick up from Coopers at 2pm)
Worldfest combines music, drama, film, dance, comedy, sports, food and much much more. There are activities from 23-26 February 2011 at the Canterbury campus.
However, there will be a free coach service on Friday 24th February (pick up from Coopers at 2pm) to the University of Kent.
Join us in the Worldfest festival tent (Senate lawn opposite Templeman Library) for free interactive workshops, dance classes, language tasters, world market, food*, drink*, and live music from 11am till midnight.
The coach would return on Saturday 25th February (pick up from Rutherford car park at 12:15am)
DEADLINE: to book coach tickets, you must visit the Student Activities Centre by Tuesday 21st February.

A walk from Rochester Cathedral to Castle (and a bit more)

Location: Rochester (meet at Liberty Quays)
There will be a walk on Sunday 26th February, meeting will be at 11 outside Liberty Quays reception
The walk will be in Rochester along a route known as ‘A Dickens of a Walk’ we will be traveling by train to Rochester, this will cost a maximum of £3, you will need to bring water, suitable clothing and footwear, there are pubs along the way, and we eat at one of these, you may however like to bring food for the walk,
The walk is 6miles long and should take no more than 3 hours or so.

Tai chi is all about promoting a healthy mind and body balance. Tai chi can be a great way to increase your balance and is an exercise suitable for nearly everyone.
Tai Chi can be performed at all levels, from very gentle to martial art. This introductory class offers a chance to learn and practice short-form Tai Chi.
Ann will lead you through a range of movements, which you can then use to increase your energy levels and sense of well-being.
There will be a short relaxation period at the end to ensure that you leave the class feeling relaxed and mentally more in-tune.

Learn about deaf awareness and basic sign language.
This is very much an introduction to the subject aimed at complete beginners, although it could also serve as a refresher for others.
Karen will take you through greetings, some simple and commonly used expressions and identify some objects.
If you have always thought it would be a good idea to know some sign language then please come along and try. The tutor can then give you some guidance as to how to progress from there.

Kent’s first official Sorority!
Every good society has to have some sort of initiation,
so it’s definitely time to get your toga’s on because it’s Greek themed!
In true sorority spirit the initiation games are secrets until the day, but we can tell you that water balloons will be involved and most likely a jelly pool too… and you know how pretty much everyone loves grapes? Most pledgers will end up hating them by the end of the night
WHATS NOT TO LOVE?!
Spectators, the first game will start shortly after 7:30, so get there asap in your bedsheets to show support… or point and laugh, which ever floats your boat!
Ater the games, we’re heading off to Bliss.
So, pretty much Wednesdays the way they’re meant to be! :D

The biggest event on the pharmacy student calender is back with this years theme ‘A Night of Enchantment’.
You will be greeted at the 4* Marriott Hotel with a drinks reception followed by a three course gourmet dinner. There will be entertainment from an award winning band and then a DJ until the end of the night.
A professional photographer will be there and able to print your photos on the night and there will also be a caricaturist!

This one-hour taster will work on tips and techniques to increase your confidence when speaking in public. Paul, the course tutor, is a playwright and scriptwriter for TV. He will give you quick, easy to use methods to project yourself how you would like to be seen and heard.
Everyone has to give presentations at university and work and attending just this one-hour will leave you with ideas that you can implement straight away.
£1 for the session.
