Horticultural society spring show boasts more than 400 entries

THE Beaminster Horticultural Society spring show featured more than 400 entries from 40 exhibitors in Beaminster Public Hall last Saturday.

The annual event filled the room with a range of flowers, crafts, fruit, vegetables and homemade treats.

Member Roy Gunning was awarded a lifetime membership for his services to the society from president Ken Hunt.

Those who were awarded trophies for their exhibits included: Ken Hunt, who received the Harry Dawe Cup for the flower section; Marlene Stantiford who received the President’s Cup for floral art and cookery; Lesley Rundle, who received the Lawrence Cup for handicrafts; and Jayne English for photography.

Bridport & Beaminster Reporter| Lottie is currently studying for an NCTJ Diploma in Journalism through a distance learning course and joined the paper in April 2014 on a freelance basis, becoming a staff reporter in January 2015.
