THE Fairey Band – who have played in Beaminster every year since 1979, organised by honorary presidents Tony and Margaret Greenham – have come second in the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.

The competition took place at the Royal Albert Hall in London on October 8th, in which 20 bands took part.

The Fairey Band will be back in Beaminster on November 19th at St Mary’s Church at 3pm. Tickets cost £12 and are available from Symonds and Sampsons estate agents, the church office on Hogshill Street or by calling 01308 862493.
