Three arrested after drugs raid in West Bay

THREE people were arrested following a drugs raid at a property in West Bay on Wednesday.

As part of the local police’s ongoing campaign to disrupt the distribution of drugs in the area, officers attended an address in West Bay, where they found drugs paraphernalia on lounge table and what was believed to be drugs.

A 21-year-old man from Birmingham, and two girls from Bridport, aged 17 and 18, were arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs.

The man was later charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis. He was remanded in custody and appeared at Weymouth Magistrates Court on Friday, where he was bailed to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on May 4th.

The two girls have been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Also on Wednesday at another Bridport address, a 29-year-old man was arrested as he was subject to a warrant issued by Maidstone Magistrates Court as he had failed to appear there earlier in March.

If you have information about the dealing of drugs in the area, contact police by calling 101, emailing or by calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111
