Robins swoop up to mid table perch ahead of Sunday clash

AN IMPRESSIVE midweek win on their own Zembard Lane turf elevated Chard Town up to mid-table in the Toolstation Western League Division One.

AFTER an even open 20 minutes Chard took the lead through skipper Taoufik Ben Salem.

In-form striker Steve Friend, on target for the third game in a row, added number two a couple of minutes into the second half and Max Westlake rounded things off just after the hour mark.

The Robins, further boosted by a clean sheet for keeper Jon Hill and his defenders, are in good shape as they welcome Bishops Lydeard in a historic first ever league game on Sunday morning (11am ko). The match is part of a six-match ground-hop taking part across the weekend.
