Rich casts off to great start

ELEVEN members kicked off their Royak Oak Ilminster Angling Association’s winter League on a very low and clear River Isle on Sunday but despite the conditions some decent catches were recorded.

Jamie Rich had a lovely day in peg 14 to win with 12lb 8oz of chublets, dace, roach and gudgeon, Jamie caught on the pole and caster.

There was a tie for second place with Rich Studley on peg 124 and Graham Field on peg 126 both catching 6lb 2oz; Rich’s weight consisted of some nice roach while Graham caught lots of small fish for his weight.

Result – 1st Jamie Rich (Against Men and Fish) – 12lb 8oz, 2nd Rich Studley (Ilminster) & Graham Field (Taunton) both 6lb 2oz.

Sections; A – Karl Aplin (Ilminster) – 2lb 7oz, B – John Dursley (Enterprise Angling) – 4lb 3oz.

The first V.E.S. Precision match is on Sunday and the draw is at the pub between 8.30 and 9am.
