Stand Out Certificate - SOC

 

What is the SOC?

 

At UMSA, we have introduced the SOC - the Stand Out Certificate  This is a joint award from the Students' Association at Medway and the Universities at Medway that recognises student volunteering achievements.

 

 

Who is eligible?

 

1)  All members of the Society Executive Committees

 

2)  All Sports Captains and Executive Committee members of Sports Clubs

 

3)  All active members of Sports Clubs and Societies

 

4)  All active members of RAG

 

5)  All active members of the Student Newspaper

 

6)  Individual students who set up their own events or projects

 

7)  All Association Officers

 

8)  Freshers' Helpers

 

9)  Course Representatives

 

 

What is involved?

 

*  Students adhering to all of the responsibilities within their role description

 

*  To contribute 50 hours or more to voluntary activities within the Students' Association

 

*  To undergo a minimum of two review sessions with a member of UMSA staff

 

*  Students must complete a SOC Application and submit a 500 - 1000 word document about what is involved in the role they have undertaken and what they have learnt from the experience.
