15th-29th September 2007
Every September we have a Freshers' Fortnight to welcome all new first year students on to the Medway Campus.
Freshers' Fortnight consists of loads of day and night-time activities, aimed at helping new students settle in. There's something for everyone, with activities ranging from sailing trips and rock climbing by day, to themed fancy dress evenings and live music at night. Click here to download our Freshers ents planner so you can see what's going on.
Wristbands
September 2007 sees the launch of our Freshers Wristband scheme. As a Freshers, you will have the opportunity to purchase a wristband. This wristband then entitles you to loads of exclusive deals and discounts during Freshers Fortnight, ranging from entry to clubs, go karting, ice skating, reaturants and bars...and best of all, it gets you entry to the Freshers Ball on Saturday 29th September. And all for the bargain price of £25! Tickets for the ball alone cost £15, so it's a brilliant deal.
You can purchase a wristband from the Pilkington Building reception. Payment is by either cash or cheque. The bands are valid from September 15th-September 29th inclusive.
Freshers' Fair - Wednesday 26th September 2007
This is a fantastic opportunity for local and national businesses to make you aware of their student products or services (and give you lots of freebies!!). The day also gives you the opportunity to join one of our many sports clubs and societies. For more information on these, see the sports and societies pages available from the drop down menu on the left.

Re-freshers
Here at Medway we are lucky enough to have an intake of new students not just once, but twice a year!! So every February we hold a 'Re-freshers Week' to welcome all the new Canterbury Christ Church students, and give them a taster of student life in Medway.
Wanna be involved?
Welcoming Freshers is a very important job, so it's essential that we have a good team of volunteers to help co-ordinate the various Freshers activities.
We are always looking for people to help out - no experience needed, just plenty of enthusiasm! So if you would like to a member of the Freshers Crew, or simply want to know a little bit more about Freshers' Fortnight, email claire@umsa.org.uk.
