Study skills

It’s important that during your time at uni you produce the best possible work, and avoid common mistakes which may lead to you being penalised for plagiarism. There are plenty of resources available, so don't be afraid to ask for help if you are struggling with your course work or exams.

For Kent students, The university's Student Learning Advisory Service provides lots of useful guidance on good study habits and offers free workshops and on study skills such as essay writing, note taking and referencing/citation and exam technique as well as offering individual support if needed. You can also seek advice from your Senior Tutor (Student Adviser in KLS if you are a law student) on your academic progress and ask for help with any problems you may have with your studies.

If you have a disability or a specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia, extra help is available through the Disability and Dyslexia Support Service.
