HI Q got the defence of their Honiton Netball League winter title off to a good start beating HNC Hot Shots 48-15 with Jaz Chester playing well. The HNC star was Charlie Gardiner.
The other game saw Flamingos open their account with a close fought 29-23 victory over Ford &Pentecost Panthers. Panthers had edged 5-4 in front at quarter time, and with Isla Quick playing well, they increased their lead to 13-10 at half way.The third period saw Flamingos begin the fight back so that at the start of the last quarter it was 18-18 and Olivia Warwickinspired them to victory.
Sidmouth Toucans moved top of Division Two on goal difference thanks to their 21-16 win over Otter Valley. It was 14-14 going into the final quarter at, but Sidmouth found that extra something with Sarah Sparks pushing them on to victory despite the best efforts of Catherine Phillips.
Blackdown recorded their 3rd straight win beating Pixies 28-20 to stay second. Kirsty Selway was the top Blackdown player whilst Heather Beviss starred for Pixies. Jenny Robinson was the star in 3Ts’ 30-19 win over JD Tyres whose top performer was Sam Brunskill.
Finally, Swaggermamas beat Bee Blazers 18-16, Courtney Wilber was the Swaggers’ pick whilst Reece Bennett was the star Blazer.
